VIDA LEONAVIČIŪTĖ-INSODIENĖ

Vida Leonavičiūtė-Insodienė has graduated from Graphics department of Vilnius Arts Academy. Her diploma work - illustrations on the theme of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare was evaluated with the hightest grade. After graduating the Academy Vida Leonavičiūtė-Insodienė created illustrations for Lithuanian art periodicals and books of poetry.

Since 1988 V.Leonavičiūtė-Insodienė creates costumes for theater. She has design several dozens of costumes for well-known Lithuanian ballet dancers - Loreta Bartusevičiūtė, Petras Skirmantas, Jonas Katakinas who represented the art of Lithuania ballet during the 90's in Russia, Venezuela, Turkey, Greece, Japan and USA. She also designed costumes for contemporary stars of Lithuanian ballet: Eglė Špokaitė, Rūta Jezerskytė, Mindaugas Baužys, who won awards at various international ballet contests. V. Leonavičiūtė-Insodienė designed costumes for TV ballet "The Beautiful Florist" staged by Egidijus Domeika, ballets staged by Jurijus Smoriginas: "Home of Bernarda Alba", "Fedra, "Requiem", "Forth Part for Margarita", "The Blue Danube", decorations and costumes for Smoriginas's ballets "The Dance Hall", "The life of an Artist", "Romeo and Juliet".

Since 1988 V.Leonavičiūtė-Insodienė takes part in international fashion shows: In Vogue, Days of Fashion where she presents her collections famous for construction and precise work.

"Meeting and Farewell" is a new never shown collection of clothes she developed during last two years. The dominating colours are black, red, gray, brown, green and its main characteristics are elegant and refined silhouette, hand-made details and precise ornamentation.
